Finance Manager , Northern Europe Commercial Operations

This role reports to the Associate Sales Operations Director and is responsible for managing the IQVIA Northern Europe commercial operations processes for Real World Services & Healthcare including Stattfin & Linguamatics. This includes ownership of in-quarter revenue forecasting, design and provision of financial and operational analysis and reporting to meet both country and regional requirements. Works closely with sales and delivery team to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Leads the quarter-end revenue close process
  • Ensures visibility to the business of quarter end paperwork requirements through the closing list process. Ensures the quarter end proof of delivery process is undertaken to ensure advanced visibility to the business of delivery risk. Acts as a link between the sales, delivery and sales admin teams to ensure issues affecting quarter end revenue recognition are identified and resolved.
  • Provide commercial operations support for Real World Service (RWS) sales and delivery leads
  • Manage the RWS / Healthcare pipeline together with project and sales teams
  • Consolidate central, NE, UKI opportunities and provide forecast on a bi-weekly basis to each region
  • Reviews of Northern Europe RWS projects with all 25-30 PM's every month focusing on: Revenue, PT costs, LF where needed, Invoicing status, Proof of delivery status, New pipe, Ad-hoc to ensure in-quarter revenue and pipelines are validated
  • Owns the fortnightly in-quarter revenue forecasting process to ensure full transparency of business leads to performance. Presents a consolidated view of the revenue forecast to the North Europe Countries for RWS and UKI Healthcare (Payer & Provider)
  • Ensures that the recording, measurement and reporting of all financial transactions adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), internal IQVIA corporate policies and procedures, government regulations and local business/functional requirements. Supports complex and large deals within the region with deal structure and contacting to ensure efficient and compliant revenue recognition
  • Regular review of RWS revenue recognition of opportunities i.e .see if there is other means to bring revenue forward or utilize standalone revenue recognition on opportunity.
  • Billing Notification Form  processing for Northern Europe's complex deals
  • Revenue sharing discussions to ensure that this is treated fairly across regions based on the revenue recognition rules and internal policies.
  • Review Occasional contract/proposals where opportunities don’t have a Key Account Manager aligned.
  • Provides Quarterly training sessions for new PMs to go over how available operational support
  • Works closely with Finance / Principal in Charges to gain understanding on the project profitability on all open projects across the Healthcare / RWS portfolio, looking at actuals vs. pricing assistants, resourcing.

    • Creates CRM Reporting & Dashboard
    • Involvement on regional commercial operations/Operational Excellence initiatives
    • ERP implementation

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Proven responsibility and experience in business/Commercial analysis and finance
  • Graduate degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or Financial Management
  • Working knowledge of financial systems (SAP/Oracle/SFDC), local regulations and US GAAP
  • Technical proficiency with financial application software is essential, as well as sound knowledge of Microsoft tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence outcomes
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong project management skills and ability to translate business issues into financial requirements
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK without visa sponsorship
