Project Manager for Cote d’Ivoire (project based hiring)

Key requirement for this role

The primary responsibility of this role is managing the project implementation in Cote d’Ivoire by local coordination with client, stakeholders from private sector, enabling and coordinating stakeholder sensitization meetings, discussions and presentations with DEPS/World Bank for project updates, weekly project meetings/scheduled meetings with client, regular updates with internal IQVIA team and private sectors stakeholders. Manages and lead the client deliverables for mapping (census) of private health facilities and HCPs in the private sector in Cote d’Ivoire.  Coordinates and supervises the development of a searchable web interface for the establishments listed and generate management reports on public and private health establishments and lead the capacity building activities as per client’s expectations.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop detailed work plan/operational plan to undertake this work in line with the guidelines
  • Develop the data collection tools and analysis plan and submit for review
  • Present the tools and ensure that their configuration is effective on the dedicated server for this purpose and have them validated by the DEPS and UCPS-BM team
  • Supervise and monitor the training of investigators and supervisors and ensure that they all understand the issue of the activity in collaboration with the DEPS
  • Lead and supervise the Pre-testing of tools and ensure that the final tools meet the needs of the study
  • Supervise and Lead the training of field team, pilot testing of the CAPI tool done by the field agency
  • Coordinate with field team lead and ensuring timely submission of cleaned, quality checked and complete data to IQVIA
  • Present an analysis plan and the field report plan in consultation with IQVIA for validation with the client
  • Develop training manuals for investigators and supervisors in collaboration with IQVIA and DEPS
  • Lead and monitor the data collection in the field - Monitor and supervise the field team and ensure timely data collection, submission and uploading the data on CAPI
  • Ensure the effective and rigorous supervision of the field work by checking for data quality
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of the progress made on the field
  • Analyze the data collected with support from IQVIA team
  • Write the draft report and present it to the study monitoring committee
  • Facilitate the report validation workshop
  • Write the final report taking into account the recommendations made during the validation workshop.
  • Manage and coordinate with partners for field work and website development
  • Coordinate with the partner, IQVIA team, UCPS-BM and DEPS for the development and set up of an interactive website which will allow other central directorates and users to research and dematerialize the process for issuing approvals to health facilities, online registration, and identification of health professionals
  • Manage and lead the Training of staff of target departments of the MoH in using this website (database) to generate reports and ensure planning for the private health sector
  • Lead the training and capacity building workshops and sessions
  • Conduct and lead the training of DEPS staff and representatives of the private sector to use the tools developed (manuals are developed by the website development partner).

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required

  • MBA or master’s degree in Public Health, Sociology, health, economics or a related subject.
  • 08-10 years of working experience working for a governmental, intergovernmental and/or non-governmental organization in health sector including experience in managing large scale health/public health surveys and donor relations;
  • Having an understanding of field work implementation in public health sector and working with Ministry of health including developmental organizations such as World Bank, etc would be preferred
  • Significant experience managing engagements with clients, ministry officials, stakeholders in in Cote de ’Ivoire and domain areas of interest
  • Given the nature of the job maintaining personal flexibility to meet deadlines is key. Willingness to travel as required and manage many multiple tasks and client requirements simultaneously is required.
  • Experience of working with Ministry of Health and donor funded projects is a must
  • Experience with MOH, World Bank, Private health stakeholders, etc would be an asset
