The Implementation Project Manager will lead/manage software implementation projects with a focus on scope, schedule, issues and risks. The successful candidate must be able to lead project management activities by following defined planning and control processes, governance, timelines and plans, action items, program status, and issues and risks management, yet have the experience to know how to handle those differently for each client and their culture. The Implementation Project Manager is a central information resource and has the overall accountability for the successful delivery of assigned projects. The Project Manager must have the ability to thoroughly understand the software solution and system developments in order to translate client business goals and manage project implementation plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a consultative, agile approach to delivering contracted scope to ensure that the customer receives the highest value through effective communication, leadership and management of the project team
  • Manage and direct the daily execution of contract requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are met
  • Drive execution of projects for the integrated enterprise software solution development team (kick-off through project close)
  • Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts and bid and proposal activities
  • Lead program reviews that provide appropriate status, costs and risks management
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts
  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services
  • Formally identifies, assesses, and monitors risk throughout the program life cycle and works with management to mitigate and address risks if they are encountered
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evident
  • Seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise
  • Capable of making informed trade-off decisions in a quick planning and response environment in order to keep the focus on delivery of customer value
  • Perform variance analyses of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management
  • Provide leadership to program/project team(s
  • Assures communication and cooperation among team members and resolves areas of conflict
  • Manage project scope effectively
  • Assure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied and program documentation is properly recorded
  • Understand and develop leading verses lagging metrics
  • Develop and execute program corrective action strategies
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Be technically capable

Skill Requirements:

  • Desire to partner with clients to help them manage their business better using our software solutions
  • Must be able to operate at the highest levels within the client organizations, such as Steering Committees, and the lowest levels on the project team including developing the requirements and appropriate procedures and scripts/code for conversion and interfaces, participating and leading the training and testing activities
  • Must be able to be a team of one and/or lead a comprehensive team of employees, clients, third party contract staff on large projects, operating as the primary or subcontractor vendor roles
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter, energetic and motivated contributor and comfortable being on an island and working well with support from those not in the same location
  • Ability to study quickly and self-manage onboarding
  • Verifiable experience managing projects (Software Dev or Implementation)
  • Verifiable experience managing large projects/programs of a similar scale and scope ($2+ Million budget, 18-month duration working across a large public department agency) preferred
  • Technical background preferred, in order to understand scope, issues and risks more effectively
  • Bachelor/ Master’s degree in relevant discipline such as computer science, MIS, or Civil Engineering, IT, strongly preferred
