Summarized Purpose:

Manages the pharmacy staff, assuring adequate coverageof procedures and workload. Oversees the operational workload planning and assignments for both technician and pharmacy staff. Serves as planning member of the pharmacy management team.

Management Role:

Manages experienced professionals and / or subordinate management who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

Essential Functions: Coordinates all workload assignments and weekly calendars for both technicians and pharmacists. Serves as primary clinic liaison with clinic teams, project managers, logistics and other departments in the planning of pharmacy data in the automated e-clinics module. Ensures randomization, treatment data, dose planning and pharmacy data entry in the automated pharmacy module is correct for each study. Assists management in the accountability of all investigational products (IP) received for studies, used during studies, and remaining after study completion. Coordinates and directs the interim and close out of client monitor visits with respect to drug accountability verification and disposal. Assists in monitoring the quality assurance program for Pharmacy. Along with other members of the pharmacy management team, assures pharmacy staff are following FDA Regulations, ICH-GCP Guidelines, PPD procedures, state and federal pharmacy procedures for packaging, preparation Interacts frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives. Interaction typically concerns resolution of operational and scheduling issues.

Education and Experience: Acitive Florida Pharmacy License BS in Pharmacy or in a related field required 3 years pharmacist experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job 1 year supervisory/management experience in a pharmacy setting providing training and/or work direction to others IV certificationIn some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic drug knowledge and calculation abilities Knowledge in the receipt and shipment of radio-labeled, frozen, refrigerated or ambient temperature drugs, compounds or devices Knowledge of aseptic technique Knowledge of steps concerning all aspects of IV and sterile prep and hospital-oriented unit doses Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong leadership skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a calm, professional manner

Working Conditions and Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress Long and variable work hours to include early mornings and weekends Occasionaltravel both domestic and international.

Physical Requirements: Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Exposure to various Investigational Products including radio-labeled compounds. Repetitive hand movementof both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeatedmovements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Extended periods of standing, walking and sitting. Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Ability to communicate complex informationand ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand informationand ideas presented throughspoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others,relates sensitive informationto diverse groups both internally & externally. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
