The Vice President, Clinical Development & Support will proactively manage a department responsible for developing, supporting and documenting technology solutions for use in Clinical Trials, and also provide ITIL based application support for the Corporate and ERP suite of applications to all internal and external users to formulate strategic plans to make sure the business is provided with the best possible solutions that match their business requirements, and provide assistance to sell these solutions externally.

The individual will provide superior consulting services to internal and external consumers of technology solutions, while carefully managing the departmental budgets and staying abreast of industry advancements. He/she will actively push the incorporation of a service-oriented architecture into future designs of all technology solutions. QualificationsRequired Skills Financial management and acumen, ability to strictly manage a complex and large budget to a demanding target Strategic and tactical planning, formulating a clear vision of future state in the face of extremely complex business problems. Ability to understand the complex requirements of clinical research, and apply consulting skills to design strategic and tactical solutions to improve the conduct of clinical trials Excellent knowledge of FDA and GCP regulations and how these apply to application design, development and testing of applications in the Pharmaceutical industry Pre-sales ability to sell IT Application services to external clients. Ability to manage a global distributed department, including motivating, developing and coordinating team members Ability to build trusted relationships with business partners Mature trusted consulting skills in terms of extraction of the business problem from business representatives, forensic analysis and innovative solution management. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Able to mentor managers and developers in how to perform their role Client focused approach to work A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork Minimum Work Experience Thorough understanding of the features and functions of all core clinical research technologies commonly used in the industry, and experience of putting these into practice (EDC, CTMS, CDMS, IVRS, eTMF, SAS, Portals, datamarts, reporting) Thorough understanding of industry standards (CDISC, HL7) Significant experience of departmental management, including fiscal and personnel responsibility of a large group, international senior management experience preferred Expert at formulating successful strategic plans, working with executive management Significant experience of identifying, building and supporting technology of business value within the pharmaceutical industry related to clinical research, compliant to GCP and FDA regulations Very experienced professional providing trusted consulting skills to the business and external clients as a technologist Significant experience of providing application development and support services within a large organization, at a management level Experiences of pre-sales technology successes expected Proven track record of successfully working on large scale and very complex IT Application projects Significant experience of working with global teams across different time zones Experience of managing teams using Agile development methodologies Experience of managing departmental restructures expected
