We are looking for an Animal Health Technician Assistant who is interested in being part of a dynamic, collaborative, and animal welfare-minded team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Observe, examine and follow up on clinical signs of animals;

- Record animal weights and feed intake;

- Perform intramuscular and subcutaneous injections of samples in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP);

- Support the technicians during the various tests by immobilizing the animals;

- Ensure sufficient food and water supply is available at all times for all animals;

- Clean all types of animal housings and accessories;

- Handle animals for any activity that requires it;

- Fill syringes to be used for the study;

- Record computerized data and complete verification documents;

- Read and ensure understanding of study plans prior to the start of each study;

- Understand, adhere to and apply Standard Organizational Procedures.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS :

- At least one year of relevant work experience;

- Experience working with animals;

- Ability to maintain the regular physical effort required to lift, push and move equipment and animals;

- High school diploma

- Ability to read and understand English; Bilingualism is an asset;

- Ability to work in a team environment;

- Ability to manage time effectively;

- Ability to adapt to change;

- Flexibility to work a variety of hours including weekends, as well as the possibility of evening and night overtime as required;

- Working knowledge of computer applications related to the position.
