Our laboratory is growing rapidly and we are currently seeking a full-timeLaboratoryAssistant to join our team. This position will work with a team to accomplish tasks and projects that are instrumental to the company’s success. Responsibilities Inspect specimen samples, verify accuracy and quantity according to study protocol/laboratory manual; Verify requisition formsAccession specimens into inventory system and perform data entry; Prepare and coordinate all biological laboratory sample shipments for storage and shipments; Order and follow up with vendors on reagents, preventive maintenance contracts. Assist in general laboratory prep e.g. print labels and paperwork, label plates and tubes, restock supplies, autoclave supplies, dispose of biohazard waste, etc. Assist in panel production as needed Perform duties accurately according to established Medpace protocols; document all deviations from standard protocols Organize work according to laboratory priorities and complete assigned responsibilities with little supervision Support microbiology sections: Process and/or set up cultures and isolates Retrieve and replace isolate vials from the freezer Subculture isolates Inoculate and freeze repository vials; maintain freezer log Inoculate susceptibility panels using the AIM inoculator Daily routine tasks and other necessary support to the Laboratory Technicians and Lab Manager. Qualifications Be able to read and write in English Bachelor’s degree of medical technology or Science preferred Must be able to work accurately with little supervision Team-worker and detail-oriented with good time management skills;Basic knowledge of Microsoft® Word and Excel;Able to work on rotational Saturdays and public holidays.
