  Job Summary We are seeking a Sr. Client Manager, Strategic Initiatives to support our Discovery Client Services department to be located remotely anywhere in the US. Client Services is the intersection of science & business at Charles River. We are looking for a strong client facing, results oriented, self-starter who is ready to be a part of growing and driving the CS Organization and Partnerships business.  

This role is responsible for project management of strategic themes such as integration and digitalization in cooperation with the Discovery Head of CS. This role will also serve as Client Manager for Partnership sponsors and providing centralized, multi-site response and quoting to sponsor requests including coordination with other business lines. This role is a global position that will also be working closely with the Discovery Commercial Lead and the Discovery Marketing Lead in order to accelerate commercial success of Partnerships. 

The following are the responsibilities related to the Sr. Client Manager position: Provide project management support for select key initiatives for Discovery Integration and Digitalization workstreams under the direction of the Disc Head of CS. This can include leading sub teams, driving completion of tasks with stakeholders, developing supporting analysis, completing project management administrative tasks, and providing status updates.  Participate in developing & implementing the commercial strategy for each Partnership in coordination with the Discovery Commercial and Marketing Leads for Partnerships, and the Strategic Alliances group.  This will include the determination of appropriate go to marketing pricing for our new Partnership offerings. Promote partnerships use with local CM counterparts and local operational staff Develop SOW’s template when needed and participate in quote writing.  Qualify bids and scopes of work with BD’s, Partners and sponsors to ensure appropriate service is provided.  Follow up with clients to ensure that proposals are complete and answer their needs.  Creatively identify ways to secure open proposals by working with BD’s, Local Client Manager scientific staff, finance, management, the Strategic Alliances group, our Partners” commercial leads, and others.  Identify new business opportunities with sponsors and liaise with appropriate internal and external staff for follow-up.  Prepare sale price estimates for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using Partnership’s suggested selling price.  Provide pricing support as needed for Global Account Teams.  Review and approve bid and proposal packages within authorized limits.  Assist management and Partners in monitoring pricing practices to determine accuracy and relevance to study type and operation processes.  Assist management and Partners in making recommendations on desirable proposals based on established financial and operational criteria, as required.  Coordinate and facilitate proposal and letter of authorization processes to ensure smooth and timely business process flow.  Interact with scheduling to identify the dates for study initiation and assist with rescheduling studies, as needed.  Assist with updating and maintaining applicable databases.  Perform all other related duties as assigned.  Job Qualifications The following are the qualifications related to the Sr. Client Manager position:

•    Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in science, business, or marketing or related discipline. Masters or PhD preferred.

•    Experience: 5 or more years related experience in business management, marketing, project management, or communications within a technical environment (e.g., biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device company, hospital, or laboratory). Formal experience in project management a plus.  

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Other:  Capable of working with a minimum of supervision, able to handle multiple tasks, and effectively prioritize based on departmental goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational skills and attention to detail required.  Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines. Understanding of business/sales process required.
