Job Overview

Under broad guidance, assists with the development and implementation of an enterprise architecture which supports future IQVIA systems, products and platforms and that satisfies business product strategy.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the ongoing development and implementation of an enterprise architecture.

• May devise and present business cases and program release plans to senior management with priority recommendations to maintain and evolve this architecture.  Builds effective business relationships with business line managers and provides technical and system expertise as input to product concepts.

• May assist product development management to define IT strategic direction and assists in the mapping of projects to that strategic direction whilst ensuring product capabilities and process improvements are delivered over time within the framework of the Q2 enterprise architecture.

• Participates in cross-functional product development teams, may also act as a consultant to provide system and technical advice.

• Keeps up to date with technology changes and identifies opportunities for implementation in future systems.

• Participates in R&D projects and may run those projects in compliance with standard project management practices.

• Align technology architecture with technology and business strategy and goals. This includes research, recommend, and introduce new technologies consistent with objectives of the company

• Provide innovative enterprise solutions, builds consensus and provides architectural oversight for technology initiatives.

• Lead conceptual / planning level of the application architecture in collaboration with other development, information security and IT teams.

• Provides key architecture vision, roadmap, integration and problem solving at an enterprise level.

• Provides clear presentations that clearly articulate technology solutions to senior management and technology staff.

• Creation of solutions that account for all key technical aspects such as software, hardware and networking components. Architects scalable, high performing, and highly available solutions

• Conduct audit/review of the implementation of a solution to insure proper end to end alignment.

Minimum required education and experience

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience Required

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

• Five (5) years’ experience in software and/or product development with a focus on architecture

• IT consulting or project management experience.

• Exposure to enterprise architecture.

• Broad knowledge of current technology, tools and techniques for software development.

• Significant experience with Cloud technologies (Azure,AWS)

• Experience in agile development practices & methodologies

• Experience implementing resilient cloud applications and platform services

• Experience with modern data and analytical platform architectures and use of AI and Machine Learning

• At least 8 years of experience in IT, Business Architecture or Software Engineering

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a solutions architect role

• Experience in evaluating business requirements and designing complete technical or business solutions in complex environments

• Experience in documenting and developing enterprise architecture for portfolio and project views, including current state architecture, future state architecture; dependencies between applications, solutions, technology capabilities, business capabilities etc.

• Strong good understanding of the architectural principals of cloud based platforms including SaaS and PaaS

• Understanding of enterprise application integrations

• A good understanding of the security processes and standards.

• Knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of enterprise architecture outputs and artifacts including EA assessments and application architecture resource models

• Previous development experience a plus

• Highly detail oriented and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
