Senior Manager, Accounting

Job Overview
This position owns and manages the close process on SAP and Oracle for CA03 (including Q2 Metrics.) The individual manages and supervises Accounts Payable for all of CA03 and is also responsible for most statutory functions relating to the business. The person in this position is a key member driving the success of the Oracle Pilot

Essential Functions (CA03)
-Preparing the monthly, and annual financial statements per US GAAP and the supporting schedules, for both management reporting purpose and statutory
-Driving the monthly variance meetings to analyse and ensure all expenses are properly accounted and accrued for
- Ad-hoc financial analysis and journal entry posting including application of accounting principles
-Reviewing and approving all supporting balance sheet schedules 
-Complete accountability for Accounts Payable Function
-Supervising the accounts payable and accounting coordinator
-Filing of GST/QST reports on a monthly basis, as well as Statistics Canada reporting as required.
-Calculating and forecasting the quarterly royalty expense as per the transfer pricing agreement and ensuring WHT payments are made
-Monthly review and approval of inter-company cross charges to ensure they are accurate and per service agreements
-Providing all financial information and schedules for annual tax returns
-Coordinating SOX, Sales Tax, Corporate Tax audit files and internal audits
-Analysing cashflow and liaising with corporate treasury to maximize cash repatriation
-Ensuring accuracy of development deferrals
-Performing fixed asset accounting
-Recording and ensuring accuracy of HR related costs/accruals (AIP, bonus, restructuring...)
-Interfacing with Corporate Treasury on banking matters...local touchpoint with banks
-Participating in the accounting, analysis and setup of acquisitions 

Qualifications
-Professional Accounting designation required (CPA CA/CPA CMA/CPA CA)
-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/finance including 3 years in a similar role
- Knowledge of financial systems (SAP/Oracle knowledge is a significant asset)
-Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong leadership and focus.
-Proven record of results working with senior management.
-Technical proficiency with excel is essential.
-High level of integrity and self-confidence.
-Autonomous, proactive
