Vaccine Commercial Director PRN

We are seeking candidates in anticipation of a future project with the need for a Commercial Director- Vaccine. This individual may need to do work as a per diem contractor to do initial strategy planning and presentations to support IQVIA prior to finalization of the project.

The Commercial Director will act as the primary link between the Client and IQVIA to manage the entire spectrum of the IQVIA deliverables, including the Salesforce, Trade and Managed Markets, Marketing services, and the Project Management Office (PMO - Technology and Sales Operations support). He/she will oversee and manage program governance and will work cross functionally across IQVIA and the client(s) to ensure alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree (B.A., B.S. or equivalent) required with M.B.A. preferred
  • Fifteen (15) + years pharmaceutical industry experience required, with preferred experience including but not limited to, Director of Sales and Marketing or equivalent, leading activities of commercial cross-functional areas including operations and P&L responsibility
  • Vaccine, Specialty Pharmacy/HUB, and buy and bill experience required
  • Product launch experience with strong product access and trade understanding

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Commercial Director will ensure IQVIA is able to meet all goals and deliverables set for the client by:

  • Ensuring all aspects of the IQVIA deliverables are executed on time and on budget in support of the Client launch.
  • Providing routine progress updates and reports, including a formal monthly report to the Client.
  • Rapidly identifying and mitigating issues affecting the critical path for launch and bringing any gaps in the agreed upon launch plan the Client.
  • Facilitating contract changes for any aspects of the IQVIA deliverables and ensuring Client representation within all levels of the IQVIA organization.
  • Managing performance reviews, personnel issues, and discipline of subordinates.
  • Leading and motivating team to generate sales in line with project goals as set by the Client and agreed to by IQVIA.
  • Actively participating in the strategy and planning of National Sales meetings to ensure the sales organization is trained and prepared to achieve sales objectives.
  • Making occasional field visits with Sales Representatives to motivate, assess, and monitor field activity and Client response.

Additional Competencies and Skills for Commercial Director:

  • Understanding and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the vaccine market
  • Understanding of the wider work of IQVIA
  • Understanding of economic environment in which the organization is operating.
  • Fluency in software operating systems, such as MS Office and customer relationship management systems
