Data Strategist/Engagement Manager, Multichannel Technology

IQVIA is looking for a Life Sciences Multichannel Marketing Data Strategist/Engagement Manager. This position will be responsible for leading the development of comprehensive data strategies across multiple business areas and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. This individual must understand the business side of the equation and know the technology and analytics well enough to work with IT and business departments. This position is a leadership role within an established yet rapidly growing multichannel technology team across all customer types including HCP, Consumer and Payer.  This is an opportunity to be both client facing and hands on, while simultaneously creating structure, processes and techniques for a junior or offshore team.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Deep understanding of database architecture and life science data
  • Evaluate business requirements and work closely with stakeholders to identify key business needs and translate them into a clear data strategy solution.
  • Continuously strive to improve the effectiveness of data management strategy by identifying new opportunities for data and analytics to advance business needs as well as identifying and conveying data quality and gaps.
  • Provide recommendations on approaches to data integration
  • Provide subject matter expertise to client stakeholders and internal IQVIA team with respect to multichannel technologies and the broader technology and data ecosystem that support them
  • Mentor, coach, hire, and develop talent at all levels as well as develop leaders within the team to assist in managing client engagements and the continuous development of team talent
  • Establish a culture of curiosity, continuous optimization and innovation to ensure ongoing technology leadership and value creation for clients
  • Provide input to and partner with MCM Product Owners to ensure product leadership in the market
  • Support business development activities including working with go to market teams to engage with customers in pre-sale process, understand client needs, define project scope, assist in authoring proposals and representing proposal and project with customers
  • Help understand new technology drivers in marketing and how they can be leveraged into our go to market ecosystem, articulate the same to clients and educate the broader IQVIA team
  • Contribute to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA in the marketplace, e.g. through speaking engagements, thought leadership articles, publications
  • Remain current on new analytics approaches and marketing channels that impact our industry, including technologies and competitive trends to anticipate and identify new business challenges and issues at assigned clients while also enabling the development of commercial offerings
  • Proactively continue to strengthen subject matter expertise through on the job experience, participation in conferences and symposia and other forums for professional knowledge sharing
  • Manage delivery teams across multiple office locations
  • Some travel is expected to engage with clients at their locations and to manage distributed delivery teams

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Technical Science or related field. Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in executing or leading multichannel technology assignments, including experience within the life science vertical
  • 6+ years developing, building and managing databases to support analytic needs
  • Hands on experience in delivering MCM technology for HCP and / or Consumer initiatives with experience in traditional approaches such as campaign automation as well as newer approaches such as DMP and programmatic buying
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading cross functional teams and projects of significant size and scope

Skill Requirements

  • Hands on experience with manual and automated techniques relating to the the ingestion, transformation, movement, sharing, stewardship and quality of data and information.
  • Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture
  • Ability to translate data quality and root cause analysis of data challenges into actionable insights
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Skilled data development history including hands-on experience with various data technologies (RDBMS, SQL, Hadoop), as well as logical and physical data modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Solid understanding of life science industry data, including IQVIA data assets
  • Passionate about technology including data, analytics, machine learning, AI and Ad-tech
  • Affinity with data science and the analytics ecosystem (but no need to be an analyst)
  • Demonstrated experience with forming and implementing data strategy, management, governance, and architecture.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of campaign automation, customer data platforms and traditional life sciences commercial data warehouses
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing practices across the brand lifecycle
  • Eager to learn and support the business strategy and desire to work on strategic projects
  • Exceptional in storytelling i.e., the ability to structure and synthesize within your communication
  • Proven track record of helping business customers/clients establish next generation data products and processes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced agile development environment, and an ability to execute against aggressive timelines.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and team management skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Self-directed and self-managed with a strong sense of diplomacy and client service focus
