Your role is vital to improving the health of family, friends, and animals.</span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: black;">What you will be doing:</span></strong></span></p><p style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">In this role, the Technical trainer will coach and guide the trainees (in Animal Operations) to proficiency on a variety of classroom and hands-on tasks including animal husbandry, animal enrichment, dosing, observations, body weights, documentation, specialized and surgical techniques on mice in pre-clinical oncology studies. </span></p><ul><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Plays a part in coming up with dosing, collections, animal handling, and/or surgical issue solutions or process changes.</span></li><li style="margin-bottom: .0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Manage the surgery calendar and scheduling of studies/surgeries along with maintaining the cleanliness of the surgical suite, ordering surgical supplies, maintaining equipment, and performing surgical room inspections. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Perform proficiency monitoring, track data, and provide feedback to technical staff. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Reports all animal welfare concerns and may become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Policies, SOPs, Guides, and protocol requirements. Identifies problems or potential problems with SOPs/Policies, schedules, etc., and takes appropriate action as necessary. Acts as an extension of leadership by ensuring staff is performing tasks as trained and following all SOPs, Policies, etc. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Performs other duties as assigned.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Works in a research environment with exposure to sharps and substances of unknown hazard. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Must function and adequately perform all responsibilities associated with the job while adhering to various established safety and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10.0pt;">Works in a research environment with exposure to sharps and potentially caustic chemicals and substances of unknown hazard.
