Essential FunctionDeliver Best Value services for the benefit of our clients, employees, and investors through the application of computer and communications technologies along with innovations in information management, data collections and analysis, and integrated global processes.Responsible for technical worldwide management of server infrastructure Operating Systems including either Windows & Active Directory or Linux & Solaris. With a focus on providing global business solutions relative to these technologies.Primary responsibility for the definition of guidelines for system administration, maintenance, and processes.Provide technical leadership and project management of systems projects.Supervision of technology management. Works with all IT disciplines and the Business to promote and maintain computing environments across all Parexel worldwide locations, with principal responsibility for one technology field.Participate in and co-ordinate IT/Business Team meetings to ensure that service delivery targets and operational requirements are met and new requirements are being identified ahead of schedule (resource forecasts, new systems requirements).Co-ordinate investigations of operational problems, and prepare proposals for improvement.Prepare global documentation sets, diagrams and roadmaps, which capture all components within respective technology space.Forecast worldwide budget needs within respective technology space.Key AccountabilitiesDelivery of reliable, quality, systems environment for all users, including capacity management, performance management, troubleshooting, security, hardware and software installations and upgrades, maintenance, repairs and enhancements.Provide thought leadership for primary technologies in functional area, including technology roadmaps, and shared services & tooling supporting Operating System management.Work to ensure minimal downtime of essential systems.Work closely with other IT and Business management and technical staff to evaluate and test systems products or perform special systems projects.Provide monthly status reports of all activities, plans and problems and current system performance and capacity measurement metrics.Define, review and maintain hardware/software technical standards, especially related to business processes, installation, configuration, management and maintenance of systems in responsible technology field.Ensure client needs are addressed within each technology space.Work with IT management to ensure staff coverage of mission-critical systems during and outside of normal business hours and assures availability of emergency or contingency support when needed.System monitoring to ensure optimum performance (utilization, disk space etc.) is being maintained.Purchasing (define specifications of systems).Conduct product evaluations.Responsible for ensuring system and data security standards are maintained within the scope of responsibility.Identify opportunities for improving business operations through more effective use of IT and preparing proposals or recommendations.Contribute to the definition and development of worldwide operating procedures and standards for systems.Negotiate and manage external vendor relationships for maintenance, support or programming services.Ensure compliance to the Information Systems Procedures and Quality standards.Study any techniques or IT concepts that will broaden skill base and enhance ability to envisage workable solutions to user's requirements.Show evidence of professional awareness in technical activities outside of immediate employment where possible.Keep abreast of industry standards and technological trends.Develop worldwide processes within domain of responsibility.QualificationsMinimum Work Experience8-10 years of management experience of technical infrastructure teamsExperience in systems and operations management, including systems engineering and operations of Data Center infrastructure.Specific experience is required in one or more of the following technical areas:WindowsActive DirectoryLinux/SolarisExperience managing and/or working closely with a MSP providerExcellent problem solving and communications skills.EducationCollege degree in a relevant technical area (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience.Language SkillsExcellent English written and oral communication skills Employment is contingent on disclosure of your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if relevant, proof of vaccination.EEO DisclaimerParexel is an equal opportunity employer.  Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to legally protected status, which in the US includes race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
