BASIC SUMMARY:  

Lead the packing and shipping team to influence overall effectiveness and performance of the team. Provide quality finished product to customers through re-inspection and packing of eggs in preparation for shipment.

 

Rate of Pay: 21.50hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  Provide assistance, motivation, training and support to team members. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for any team member who needs assistance with products or procedures. Monitor workload of the team to ensure adequate time to meet order dispatch deadlines. In the absence of the supervisor, assist with special projects such as breeder replacement, franchise selection, etc. Following biosecurity standards, re-inspect and pack eggs according to packing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and/or special customer instruction on a daily basis. Candle and grade eggs from the farms. Support Customer service with daily egg inventory. Interface on a regular basis with customer service, production/processing departments and delivery personnel to confirm any allocation and shipping requirements/changes Maintain and complete all daily reports and trip sheets. Finish all domestic and international orders for shipping (i.e. UPS, FedEx, truck and airline carriers). Organize and maintain distribution cooler/building and temperature records. Maintain supply inventory and coordinate ordering of supplies for packing and shipping. Provide input for performance reviews of team members. Actively participate in department training programs (e.g. biosecurity, cleaning and disinfecting procedures, in-house laundry, pick slip system, packing and labeling of egg orders). Perform daily housekeeping duties in the cooler/packing area. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
