This role is responsible for developing and effectively deploying an operational excellence program for Charles River. This position creates, coordinates and drives all aspects of the deployment of the operational excellence strategy. This role is a key contributor to the development and implementation of the Integrated Management System to achieve excellence in the end to end commercial and clinical value streams.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with Executive Director to create a strategic vision and road map for the operational excellence program

• Support functional leadership teams to develop a strategy and implement the Integrated Management System for their areas

• Create, maintain, and deliver training to support the advancement of operational excellence at Charles River

• Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular assessments of the Integrated Management System to functional leadership teams

• Lead comprehensive analysis, simulation, and other methodologies to support optimal efficiency and quality

• Generate and interpret reports on performance to support effective planning, risk management, scenario planning and operational execution within Technical Operations

• Provide facilitation and implementation support for continuous improvement activities such as 5S, kaizens, and FMEAs

• Provide direct support to senior level leadership and functional leadership as needed

• Provide support in resolving issues to meet project goals and deliverables.

• Work directly with functional department and group leaders.

• Prepare weekly/monthly reports, agendas, meeting minutes, analyses and presentations. Provide updates and progress to management team

• Must be capable of motivating others, creating a positive work environment and foster inter-departmental collaboration, coaching and performance feedback.

• Must be capable of clearly assigning objectives, clearly setting and measuring and monitoring progress, managing resources and handling competing priorities. Job Qualifications EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• At least 8 years of continuous improvement experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or scientific discipline or work experience equivalent; Master’s preferred.

• Lean/six sigma required. Master black belt preferred.
