Job Summary We are seeking a Scientific Product Manager, to lead commercial development and promotion of our expanding portfolio of preclinical research models as a key member of our RMS Scientific and Commercial Development team.   This position will be remote.

  Understands through practical hands-on preclinical experience the in-vivo requirements for complex disease, drug assessment and disease pathway study models.  Responsible for the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and plans for the Scientific Portfolio of Research Models & Services businesses. Drives financial return and outcomes resulting from R&D in close collaboration with operations, marketing and sales. Partners with Product Management/Marketing teams across the Company to assure consistency in the branding, positioning and messaging. Engages with the scientific community directly and builds KOL communities around model focus areas. Monitors and reports scientific/technical knowledge of scientific fields and their potential impact to products in the market. Develops content strategies reflecting the intrinsic scientific utility and value while supporting the creation of assets that resonate with the target audience. Develops competitive monitoring strategies to acquire and utilize data from to define products, messaging and positioning within the portfolio and the overall impact of the portfolio in the market. Partners with and develops alliance relationships with R&D partners and clients to further develop and define future model applications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Works independently to achieve short- and long-term goals in a dynamic, fast paced environment focused on developing models to meet scientific community needs.   Able to communicate complex scientific principles clearly and concisely with clients, operations, marketing and sales.  Works collaboratively with business unit product managers and stakeholders around the world and where appropriate cross selling/marketing plans with other CR divisions. Works with commercial development team to assess market potential and support senior management go to market decision process and implementation. Leads cross-functional teams to develop and execute plans, for the most effective and profitable marketing of new products. Formulates short-and long-range planning to market the product through all stages of the product’s life cycle. Supports the development and maintenance of product literature, website, etc. Attends scientific meetings to assess current market and support business objectives. Supports selling situations by serving as the technical resource for customers and the sales group. Prioritizes and executes on strategic sales opportunities by leveraging scientific experience and subject matter expertise. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline.  Minimum 1-3 years related practical experience in in vivo pharmacology research and recent life science product development and management.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Must be able to influence and manage resources/staff without direct reporting relationships. Ability to multi-task and have strong organizational skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional presentation skills. Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and be able to prioritize and re-evaluate priorities as situations change. Proficient in Computers (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CRM). Domestic Travel up to 20-30%.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: MBA and/or MS/PhD. PMP Certification.
