Parexel has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our clinical FP&A team. The Sr. Financial Analyst I requires the ability to prepare and review complex financial data (corporate-maintained) in order to provide comprehensive and in-depth analysis to help drive results. The role supports the corporate backlog process for all business lines/functional areas across all business units. This role requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to accomplish objectives with no supervision and limited oversight. Experience in month end close support or similar experience supporting a controlled accounting environment is highly preferable. This role requires the ability to review complex financial data in order to provide comprehensive and in-depth analysis.

The Sr. Financial Analyst I role is expected to establish himself as a strong “co-pilot” with SBU leadership and with the Sr. Manager of Finance, Strategic FP&A by supporting the achievement of its operational and financial goals. As a result, the Sr. Financial Analyst I role should have a deep understanding of the how backlog and sales metrics should translate into financial and operational actions throughout the company.

Key Accountabilities

• Supports Sr. Manager of Finance, Strategic FP&A in the calculation, consolidation and reporting of quarterly backlog and net new business awards metrics.

• Provides ownership and accountability of the backlog reporting tool in partnering with project financial analysts by supporting, reviewing, and analyzing the output.

• Translates results of analysis on backlog into valuable insights and actionable recommendations for business leaders; supplies ad hoc analysis as requested.

• Maintains, produces and communicates a relevant and impactful set of metrics designed to support evaluation of financial performance.

• Collaborates with Project Finance teams to ensure accuracy in monthly data, facilitating monthly reviews.

• Demonstrates competency in dealing with ambiguity and problem-solving abilities.

• As part of FP&A, builds rapport with and understands/addresses needs of business unit leadership.QualificationsSkills:

• Ensures data accuracy and integrity and conducts detailed analysis to solve problems and provide recommendations and insights. Considers the big picture, including all stakeholders, and looks beyond the obvious to anticipate problems and data needs and proactively find solutions.

• Possesses and applies financial reporting knowledge, policies and procedures. Upholds all company and regulatory policies, compliance standards and controls to protect business integrity.

• Proactively identifies and informs stakeholders about opportunities and risks to improve efficiency and profitability. Conducts crucial and challenging conversations to protect profitability and ethics.

• Establishes, follows and improves end to end processes across activities/projects through structured, disciplined processes to deliver on expectations.

• Thrives in a complex, fast-paced and potentially ambiguous environment; works effectively in a matrix environment.

• Demonstrates advanced Excel and PowerPoint applications skills; experience with financial performance systems (e.g., Hyperion, SalesForce, etc.)

• Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to present effectively in a variety of settings; ability to relate well to others.

• Ability to negotiate skillfully; both frank and diplomatic.

• Ability to successfully work in a (‘virtual`) team environment.

Education:

• BA in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience preferred.

Language Skills:

• Strong command of the English language.

Minimum Work Experience:

• Moderate level of professional experience with FP&A, or in finance roles with strong analytical and partnering track record
