The System Integration Engineer is responsible for developing the design and architecture of the interaction between various subsystems and applications, as well as developing the testing methodology to ensure a solid system design. As a System Integration Engineer, your role is to establish how data is propagated efficiently between applications/software modules, establish well defined API’s for inter and intra communication between and within systems and participate in the overall system architecture of software and instrument based solutions. There is opportunity to gain a deeper knowledge of various coding languages, tools, and frameworks including: C#, .NET, .NET CORE, REST, SOAP API, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and to make impactful contributions in the development of great products.

The following are the job duties & responsibilities related to the Senior Engineer System Integration: 

•    Participate in design decisions for new and existing application development, proactively escalating issues with propose alternative solutions to overcome obstacles

•    Passionately develop internal software solutions and systems integrations for key Charles River innovative software products

•    Prepare risk assessments with appropriate levels of detail to ensure the system integration complies to pharmaceutical laboratory expectations

•    Participate in design reviews and provide feedback and guidance to the design team

•    Develop testing strategies that will challenge the designs and identify areas that need improvement.

•    Participate and assist in new feature integration and testing, to ensure a robust and high-quality product. 

•    Participate in designing system architectures that involves hardware/software and assist us in system design documentation

•    Create and propose system deployment ideas to our innovative enterprise products

  Job Qualifications The following are the minimum qualifications related to the Senior Engineer System Integration: 

Education:  

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering skillset and work experience in Software Engineering

Experience: 

•     7+ years’ experience designing and developing new or enhancing existing software applications in both software-only and software/hardware related products.

•    Experience in creation of system design documentation including hardware/software for internal and external customers.

•    An understanding of how to translate complex systems into sub-components and optimizing the design of both.

•    Experience in a regulated software development environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

•    Excellent critical systems integration thinking, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment

•    Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and act

•    C#/VB.NET skills and working knowledge in Inter-Process Communication preferred

•    Possess a strong communication skill, including written, verbal and presentation in English

•    Knowledge in open-source software engineering would be nice to have
