  What will you work on? We are looking for a Sample Transport and Technician Assistant - Residual Materials Management for the Maintenance Department located in Laval, to ensure intra-site sample transport using a van. . Assists in ensuring hazardous materials are disposed of in accordance with all relevant policies and regulations; Ensure the transport of samples/material between the different sites; Ensure compliance and all safety conditions of the hazardous waste storage room; Regularly inspect the hazardous waste storage room to ensure compliance with the segregation of the various wastes (acid, base, flammable, oxidizing, reducing, biological, radioactive, reactive or other waste); Collect all hazardous waste recovery containers for all internal departments; Ensure that the identification of the various recycling containers is compliant; Clean up spills that occur as part of its operations;

 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed in a highly GLP regulated laboratory;

• Work is performed in all facilities, including offices, laboratories, animal rooms and mechanical rooms;

• Considerable sensory attention is required on a regular basis;

• Work schedules require flexibility depending on the current project;

• Regularly having to lift recycling containers that can weigh up to 25 kg;

• Exposure to maintenance chemicals and biohazardous materials.

• Travel required on a daily basis between sites with the company vehicle; Who are we looking for? We are looking for an autonomous person with a high school diploma in science with a good knowledge and practice of GLP and work-related legislation, practices and procedures; and with a good knowledge of WHMIS 2015; (Important asset). Bilingualism is required (French and English). Ability to work within constraints and adapt to change; comfortable using a computer (Office Suite and other applications) and have a valid Class 5 driver's license.
