  Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer for our Enterprise Data Analytics Team.

We are taking Charles River to a place where Enterprise Data Analytics team will be applying the techniques of data management, data engineering, and strategy development, as well as the use of analytics techniques that range from forecasting and simulation to linear programming and optimization and we want you to join us. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

• Designs, documents, administers and maintains SSAS cubes (both DAX and MDX) from dimensional models

• Implementation of data governance through the use of SSAS meta-data layers in cubes (both DAX and MDX)

• Implementation of pixel-perfect reports in SSRS • Mobile Analytic solutions in Power BI

• Implement, decide and document UX data visualization standards

• Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analyses

• Mentor and support other Developers and business partners

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for development team

• Support user community on data analytics

• Perform training and knowledge transfer of technology

• Provides ongoing performance monitoring and tuning, and automation of production activities related the BI environment

• Works in conjunction with business analysts and other users acting as a liaison between technical and business departments in developing dashboards and other BI related solutions.

• Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies and their related interfaces

• Perform Unit testing and resolve defects Job Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field), Master’s degree preferred

• At least 5 years of SSAS design, development, maintenance and performance tuning on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and above (2016 preferable), with expert DAX skills

• 3+ years of Power BI experience including mobile solutions

• 5+ years of advanced SQL Programming: PL/SQL, T-SQL, U-SQL

• 2+ years of ETL design and development on Microsoft SSIS in SQL Server 2012 and above (2016 preferable) in a multi-dimensional Data Warehousing environment

• 5+ years of Enterprise Data & Analytics solution architecture

• 2+ years of experience in Azure, preferably data heavy / analytics applications leveraging relational and NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse and Big Data

• Experience building analytics solutions for self-service

• Experience with UX Design / Data Visualization strongly preferred

• Experience with dimensional data modeling

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Hadoop tools including sqoop, Spark, and Hive

• Ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and tools

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Effective collaboration of tasks across the business and technical teams

• Able to work quickly and under tight delivery deadlines with focus on details

• Interface with key customers from all functional areas - Analytic skills are needed

• Proven and recent experience of implementing solutions from requirements gathering and process design to functional production deployment

• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality deliverables

• Possesses strong business acumen, with ability to assist in development of business requirements definitions

• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with management, coworkers, and business users
