  Job Summary The CRL IT organization is looking for a technical thought leader to provide engineering expertise within the Global Infrastructure Services team. As an individual contributor and part of a cross functional team of engineers, the Hybrid Cloud Engineer will be an integral component to delivering effective end to end cloud infrastructure technology solutions. You will find and implement creative solutions using any combination of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. 

This role will require a mix of subject matter expertise in cloud computing, Azure/AWS administration, VMware, server, storage, networking, and monitoring. The hybrid cloud engineer will be responsible for infrastructure as code deployment tooling and supporting services on-prem and across multiple cloud environments. 

This will be a remote based role with some occasional  travel to our site in Tranent, Scotland as per business requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Application migration to multi-cloud environment using cloud migration technologies  Designing, building and deploying complex IaaS and PaaS infrastructure solutions Support existing on-prem solutions and platforms while migrating to cloud technologies Document IT hybrid cloud infrastructure engineering procedures and collaborate on various information technology projects.  Responsible for technical documentation of cloud migrations pre/post Embrace a team mentality, by mentoring more junior engineers and cross-training with other engineers  Perform all other related duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: Very strong related IT experience. Working knowledge and understanding of current Cloud Computing technologies such as AWS/Azure and cluster management tools like Kubernetes. Experience working in and managing AWS and Azure. Experience with networking concepts, design, and support for both cloud and on-prem resources.   Experience coding using infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines, Terraform, and Ansible. Experience with designing cloud implementation architectures and solutions using DevOps mindset, Automation, and PaaS & IaaS resources. Experience working on or with teams using Agile methodologies such as Scrum. 

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. 

Others:  Deep understanding of on-prem/cloud technologies and methods for migration. Designing, building, and operating global IT infrastructures. Storage concepts on Cloud Backups and Archiving solutions. Self-motivated with the ability to develop and communicate strategies regarding the strategy and technical barriers to cloud adoption.  A passion for educating, training, and designing cloud solutions for enterprise customers is an absolute requirement for this position. Design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications. Breath of expertise in Cloud Computing platforms (AWS/Azure), technologies and architectural best practices. Experience in architecting complex use cases leveraging a multi-cloud environment.  Job Qualifications
