Biotech Partnership Enablement, Associate Director

he Director is responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure to support pre-sales awards, growth, consistent quality and profitable execution of our Client partnerships. They will interface with stakeholders in Parexel to provide guidance and coordinate the modifications to the standard Parexel partnership model - primarily operational delivery processes and the underlying technology/data frameworks. Additionally, they will establish and maintain both internal and external governance of Parexel Client partnerships while sharing best practices and lessons learned with other members of the Biotech Office and across account teams.

SUPPORT PRE-SALES ACTIVITIES

Support the account team in the development of the partnership value narrative

Provide input into / write RFI/RFP content around partnering best practices and expertise

Draft presentation material on partnership and governance best practices

Attend/support prep and sponsor meetings, advising on / speaking to partnering model and implementation

SUPPORT CROSS SBU PARTNERSHIP DESIGN AND BUILD

Lead internal and sponsor partnership kickoff meetings

Develop SME requirements and obtain SME support for the partnership implementation

Lead the development, either directly or supporting, the build, implementation, and maintenance of partnership model elements, including:

• Operating Model (Playbook and operations manuals) including coordinating contributions by SMEs

• Governance Framework (internal and external), including development of charters

• Partnership Metrics & Key Performance Indicators, including partnership scorecards

• Technology landscape with SME contribution from the Client Technology Partner to outline the data and document flows

• Training Plans (executed by Partnership Training Leads)

• Communication and Change Management Plan

Coordinate workstreams (Alliance Management, Ops Model, Training, Change/Comms, Technology, Org Design

May be assigned as a workstream lead for Parexel liaising directly with client counterpart (and may include working with a lead from another CRO)

Participate in ongoing sponsor meetings / collaborative workshops

Contribute to the account plan (implementation readout, lessons learned from other relationships, innovation/disruption of strategy, dashboard review)

Building sponsor relationships (counterparts), serve as SME to sponsors, white papers & conference attendance with sponsors

Collaborate with sponsor on developing/launch of partnership survey

SUPPORT CROSS SBU PARTNERSHIP MAINTENANCE

Accountable for organizing and coordinating the maintenance and sustainability of the partnership model in partnership with Alliance Management, Commercial team members and Operational Delivery Lead including

• facilitation of ongoing partnership operation model evolution

• continuous improvement of partnership infrastructure, reporting, and communications

• Adjustment of partnering / sourcing model

• Support the periodic evaluation of the SME demand / engagement

• Impact assessment of changes to the partnership model and its components

• Relationship health surveys

DEVELOP THOUGHT LEADERSHIP DIRECTION/EXTERNAL MESSAGING ON PAREXEL’S

PARTNERING EFFORTS

Establish and maintain partnering best practices across all elements of partnership

• Consult on and recommend models/approaches customized to fit Client and Parexel needs

• Establish, maintain and present externally and internally on partnering best practices

• Partner with Corporate Marketing to create material to publish Parexel’s experience, success in partnering and differentiation in the external market Job Qualifications :

• From relevant experience can apply industry best practices around how CROs work with Pharma / Biotech

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Industry veteran with experience working in pharmaceutical services environment, preferably in a CRO/ Life Sciences

• Company or consultancy background specializing in life sciences.

• Experience in how CROs and Pharma / Biotech can work together in different models, and the pros and cons of each model

• Preferred experience in both sales and delivery roles, R&D drug development/clinical development background with an appreciation for the details and challenges of running clinical trials

• Evidence of consulting / problem solving assignments, with a track record of implementing to the design

EDUCATION

• Degree in a life science or other relevant experience required.

• MSc / MBA / Advanced degree preferred
