Scientist 1 or 2 - Protein and Purification Operations - Large Molecule

We are looking to fill a Scientist 1 or 2 - Protein and Purification Operations - Large Molecule position working as a full-time employee of ExecuPharm / Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Kenilworth, NJ. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for conducting lab scale chromatography, filtration studies for purification of therapeutic proteinsCollect and submit samples for the analytical testingResponsible for running HPLC and UV-based analytical characterization to support their studiesRigorous documentation of data in electronic lab notebooksSupport of therapeutic protein deliveries requiring purification through all necessary filtration and chromatography unit operationsWork in teams of 2-3 for typical activities

QualificationsBS degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fieldScientist 1= B.S./B.A. (< 1 yr exp)Scientist 2= B.S./B.A. (1-2 yrs exp)

Required Skills and ExperienceBasic understanding of biochemical/biophysical properties of proteinsBasic understanding of purification unit operations (chromatography, filtration)Basic understanding of analytical instrumentation:  HPLC/UPLCAbility to work within a team environment

Desired Skills and ExperienceLab based research experienceFamiliarity with Akta purification systems (Explorer, Avant, Pilot, etc.)Experience with monoclonal antibody purification
