Job Description
Position Summary:The candidate will be based at customer’s site(s) and is encouraged to ensure customer’s chemicals, biological reagents and kits inventory under the Chemical Management (CM) program are sufficiently stocked and handled as per local regulations. They would be encouraged to be scientifically and technically inclined.
Essential Functions:
(a) To support Safety Team in maintaining the Chemical Management System along with the chemicals, biological samples, reagents and kits inventory in accordance to customer’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
(b) To register data for non-regulated items into a Chemical Management System on behalf of the users during purchases.
(c) Receive and sort all chemicals, biological samples, reagents, and kits before issuing to Users.i. Verify if these chemicals have SDS and approved in a Chemical Management System.ii. Perform goods receipt (GR) in the system.iii. Print QR Code and GHS Labelling and tag to individual items.(d) For regulated items, log sheet will be additionally prepared and filed up prior to storing them in designated storage cabinets. Customer’s Safety Team and Users will also be advised via email. Items may need to be quarantined if accurate documentation is not in placed prior to purchase.(e) Performing regular stock checking to ensure the accuracy of the inventory and the storage compatibility limit:i. Regulated chemicals – Quarterlyii. Non-regulated chemicals – Annuallyiii. Updating the storage, usage, and access information on regulated chemicals monthly(f) Ensuring the storage limits and access to regulated chemicals and biological reagents and kits align with applicable local regulations.(g) Scan out the chemicals, biological reagents, and kits from Chemical Management System for disposal at designated disposal points in each laboratory for accurate inventory level information.(h) Set up new chemical, biological reagents, and kits storage points.(i) Trigger the re-ordering of chemicals that are common for lab use.(j) Assist Customer’s Safety Team and requestors in administration, training, and use of Chemical Management System.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:• Possesses an ITE or a Diploma in Science or related field with experience in handling of chemicals and/or biological and laboratory safety awareness.• Having some knowledge in the use of ERP system and logistic work would be preferred.• Standout colleague with out-going and pro-active personality who is diligent at work.• Good organizational and coordination skill to multi-task and meet deadline as needed• Possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.• Relevant training will be provided.
