IMPORTANT:   In order to be considered for this position, a resume/CV must be uploaded and submitted during the application process.  Please make sure work history and education are added correctly.  Job Summary The Director Quality Systems will be responsible for developing, implementing and improving current and future Quality Management Systems including Document Control, Deviations/Investigations, CAPA , Change Control, QMR Program and Validation program. Electronic system selection and development of Quality Systems to serve the needs of the contract manufacturing organization. This role will also be responsible for building the group needed to support the management of the Quality Systems as well as staff management, development and training.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Management and Improvement of current Quality Systems as defined in the Quality Improvement Plan. Evaluation of the Quality needs of incoming clients by assessing the prospective clients Quality Systems, while developing a plan with key milestones to integrate their process into the Quality Systems.

•Build solid cross-functional relationships with relevant internal and external departments necessary to ensure a smooth transition into the Quality System.

•Will support the selection and implementation of electronic systems to be utilized for Quality Assurance in a contract manufacturing environment ensuring client’s needs can be achieved.

•Maintain knowledge base on policies and procedures concerning Cognate’s Quality Systems and operational philosophies.

•Development of Quality staff members at varying levels of experience.

•Other duties, tasks or projects as assigned. Job Qualifications EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• BS degree in science or engineering.

• 7 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field.

• Experience supporting customer audits or Regulatory inspections.

• Management of a department or quality assurance team in a manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated knowledge of current GXP regulatory interpretations of QMS requirements, current industry best practices in the area of biologics or cell and gene therapy manufacturing preferred.

• Previous experience in the deployment and use of Electronic Quality Systems for document control, deviation management, CAPA and change control.

• Ability to multi-task effectively.

• Proficient in computer system use, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and QMS software.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Good leadership/interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills.

• Certification by American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
