Principal Pricing and Access Consultant

We are currently seeking a East Coast based Principal Pricing and Access Consultant to join our highly talented and tenured team!

Parexel Regulatory & Access Consulting offers a resourceful solution for commercialization by aligning evidence generation and economic evaluation with pricing, reimbursement, and market access strategy. The Pricing and Market Access group is focused on developing payer and market access-focused communications as well as providing insights and strategic support to help inform the Market Access & pricing strategy of a product.

To oversee development of a wide range of materials that support global Pricing & Market Access projects (e.g. US Payer Landscape, US Market Access and Pricing strategies, US ICER support, Global Value Dossiers, Health Technology Appraisals/early scientific advice, payer focused Value Stories, Competitor Landscape assessments, primary research/advisory board, as well as other Market Access and Pricing Strategy materials) and to guide and mentor a team to develop such materials.

Support and drive the Parexel Access US strategy, including establishing and maintaining a wide internal and external stakeholder network, identify and generate business opportunities, support the growth and development of the US team and work closely with the global Access team to ensure cohesive services for Parexel clients.

A Principal Pricing and Access Consultant:
  • Works within broad project guidelines and facilitates issue and conflict resolutions.

  • Prioritizes own work load and may prioritize the work load of the project team in order to achieve the project scope and objectives

  • Capitalizes on opportunities to improve project efficiency, results or team performance and proactively takes action

  • Leverages information from previous projects or other client work to efficiently complete assigned project activities as well as facilitate business decisions

  • Produces quality work that meets the expectations of Parexel Market Access Consulting and the client. Reviews the work of colleagues for content and quality to ensure the expectations of the client and Parexel Market Access Consulting are met

  • Works cross functionally across the Parexel Access Team and with wider Parexel organization 

  • Owns the financial requirements of project delivery and work with the assigned Project Financial Analyst (PFA) to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting

  • Provides training and guidance to project team members and acts as a mentor to junior staff

  • Supports the generation of thought leadership aligned to the Access business strategy including podium and panel presentations, blogs, white papers and client facing workshops.

Consulting Activities and Relationship Management:
  • Applies the appropriate organization’s consulting models and methodologies and assists in the design/improvement the methodologies when needed

  • Provides a full range of technical and/or business consulting services within personal area of expertise including representing clients to regulatory agencies

  • Completes and delegates project activities in a timely manner with an understanding of issues which may impact project profitability and client satisfaction

  • May act as a trusted advisor to clients, often on issues that lack precedence or are not clearly defined. May act as a loaned executive for a client

  • Facilitates resolutions to possible problems or conflicts within the project team and/or the client. Provides guidance as needed to lower level colleagues on appropriate methods of executing project activities

  • Develops business solutions addressing specific client needs using expertise, best practices and knowledge of the client’s business and key industry drivers

  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally at multiple levels including senior and executive management within a client organization

  • Plans and delivers services and solutions which results in clients expressing satisfaction with service provided and occasionally results in additional business or referrals

  • Identifies opportunities for follow-on business or changes in project scope and exploits the opportunities with Parexel Market Access Consulting management and account management.

Business Development
  • Actively prospects and leverages new business opportunities with client and industry contacts in collaboration with Account Management

  • Presents information about PAREXEL Market Access Consulting service offerings reflecting the organization’s capability to support client needs

  • Generates new or repeat business due to personal name recognition or history of client satisfaction and/or relationship

  • Leverages rainmaking skills resulting in new and repeat business for Parexel. Is responsible for constant monitoring of his/her “A” list, and is expected to have continued contact with both existing and future potential clients

  • Participates in project scoping calls and proposal preparation

  • Delivers sales presentations and participates in bid defense meetings when needed.

Parexel related responsibilities:

  • Completes basic job related responsibilities, including timesheets, expense reports, maintenance of CVs, project deliverable archiving, participation in internal initiatives/projects or as a mentor as requested by management

Knowledge and Experience:
  • 5+ years Pricing & Market Access experience, preferably in a consulting environment

  • 3+ years project management experience in pricing & market access and/or HTA and literature review projects with the ability to control projects from proposal through to delivery with successful client outcomes

  • Experience in managing large written communication-based projects such as GVD’s including a high degree of understanding of the factors that impact on successful completion of such large written market access communication projects

  • In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical market

  • A strong track-record of timely and high-quality project delivery, with demonstrable experience in producing client-ready deliverables that clearly show an understanding of client requirements.

Desirable skills and experiences:
  • Deep working knowledge of US health care system, reimbursement environment and evidence requirements

  • Experience developing market insights and recommendations by leveraging in-depth knowledge of US market access landscape, healthcare reform, claims data and managed care data

  • Experience identifying opportunities and executing strategies for obtaining separate,  Medicare/Medicaid and private reimbursement in various settings of care.

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline is required or a higher degree is desirable.
