PPD’s Language Services (LS) organization has a role for a Specialist Tools & Technology. In this role, you will support users with PPD tools & technology related to manage translation projects. In this role you will also manage translation project issues and process flows throughout its complete life cycle. Ensures business compliance with current processes and procedures.

This role requires a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of tools and technology related to translation industry and translation processes in general; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

Main Responsibilities

  • Partners with the IT department to develop Wiki pages, system integrations, and responds to relevant IT Tickets.
  • Manages technical or process issues to ensure on-time quality delivery of final translations by supporting translation requestors, vendors and linguists.
  • Assists and manages translation vendor relationships
  • Manages system enhancements, testing and trainings.
  • Manages applicable translation related customer escalations and Quality Events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • 2+ years proven project management experience, preferred in localization life sciences or translation industry
  • CAT/TMS tool experience required or have a technology background
  • Quality and vendor management experience preferred
  • Proven skills of multi-tasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
