Job Summary

Prosector – Necropsy – 2000$ Bonus

As an Prosector for our Necropsy team in Sherbrooke, you will be responsible for performing post-mortem examination of animals while following ethical regulations and study design guidelines.

In this role, key responsibilities include: 

  • Euthanize animals prior to necropsy.
  • Perform animal tissue evaluation for pathologists. 
  • Weigh and document all abnormalities of the organs.
  • Evaluate for abnormalities and follow tissue conversation methods.

Key Elements

If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you in the rest: 

  • College Diploma in Animal Health, inventory and research in biology or in Biotechnology or bachelor’s degree in Biology or any related to science discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding and writing English is required.
  • Being able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).

Role Specific Information: 

  • Location: easily accessible using Sherbrooke’s public transit system. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station.
  • Pay: Starting at 19.50$/hrs. Opportunity to start at higher level and higher salary with specific research experience.
  • Sign-On Bonus: 2000$ paid after 6 months’ probation period.
  • Schedule: Full time, permanent position (37.5 hours/week), depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime. Position mostly to work Monday to Friday – Week-end Rotation only.
