Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity a Lab Research Supervisor- In Vivo for our Discovery site located in Morrisville, NC

The Lab Research Supervisor- In Vivo will:

•    Manage and support research technical staff conducting In Vivo Oncology studies in mice and rats.   •    Engage, enable, empower, and motivate staff in their development •    Support the growth of leadership capabilities and development of staff •    Focus on inclusive leadership principles •    Advance situational leadership awareness and actions •    Develop team strengths and improve weaknesses •    Identify team goals and evaluate team progress

In addition the Lab Research Supervisor- In Vivo

•    May act as a lead technician for In Vivo studies •    Perform in-life technical procedures, therapeutic agent administration, and care for all animals •    Administration of therapeutic agents by various routes (PO,SQ,IM,IP,IV) •    Provide animal welfare assessments, including body weight and tumor volume measurement •    Coordinate projects and work closely with other groups to ensure studies are completed in a timely manner while meeting the needs of the clients.  •    Ensure compliance with departmental policies, practices, and procedures (e.g., SOPs, protocols). •    Act as liaison between technical staff, internal departments, and study directors for all aspects of assigned studies. •    Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices •    Design and implement new methods & processes to solve project-related problems (i.e., task coordination, innovation, methodology, resource sharing, brainstorming, etc.).

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the LabResearch Supervisor- In Vivo position:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in biology or related field required.  Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.) preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in an industry-based research lab, including 1 year supervisory experience. Preferred: progressive experience in a cancer research organization, previous experience working with laboratory animals and previous experience leading a laboratory animal research team.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure:  None. Other:  Excellent judgment, decision-making, training/mentoring skills and verbal/written communication skills. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Able to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks. Advanced chemistry and math knowledge/skills.    

“The pay range for this position is $68,000-$80,000 . Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.”
