Job responsibilities 

The Development Ops Privacy Champion will work closely with all members of the Research and Development organization to help operationalize privacy by design and privacy by default principles into Dev Ops driven systems, applications, communications, and daily ways of working, including those with Third Parties. 

- Request the launch of Privacy Assessments, including those requiring update or reconfirmation.- Assist with keeping GPO apprised of new compounds, countries, strategic Third Party relationships, novel processing activities/technologies and all other privacy-by-design/default opportunities.- Assist GPO with keeping notices/consents templates up-to-date, stored / archived in the appropriate repositories, and the study teams informed when updates are available.- Assist with training R&D and Third Parties on privacy compliance obligations; communicate key messages from GPO to R&D colleagues as needed.

- Assist with investigation and development / execution of remediation plans associated with Personal Information Incidents involving R&D activities.- Assist with investigation and response to Data Subject requests associated with R&D activities.

- Partner with GPO in developing and executing monitoring/auditing efforts to enhance compliance including monitoring / auditing plans associated with Third Parties. - Serve as gatekeeper for ICF Escalations prior to going to Global Data Privacy Officer, work with ICF Escalations team for updating/creating country-specific data protection language in ICFs as needed / requested. - Serve as gatekeeper for health authority, ethics committee and clinical sites’ questions regarding privacy program and data protection practices at Incyte; enhance guidance materials as commonly asked questions and issues arise.- Answer FAQs coming from R&D colleagues related to privacy, liaise with GPO for areas of confusion/opportunities for streamlining and/or further education to foster a culture of privacy and self-service efficiency.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 4 years minimum relevant experience in a privacy, quality, or compliance function aligned with GCP-type activities.
  • Global experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare industry.
  • Certification in privacy (e.g. CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Power BI (or other dashboard tool).
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and adaptable.
  • Previous Global Privacy Analyst experience gained in Pharma is needed, experience of receiving and responding to privacy escalations Globally not just in the EU (examples of experience: ICF language, Contract language, HIPPA, biological samples language, privacy breaches...). 

  • Excellent organization, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to maintain confidences while working with sensitive, confidential information.
  • Experience working globally.
