The Procurement Specialist is expected to develop local/regional relationships with internal customers. They must analyze and understand customer requirements in order to provide professional advice and ongoing support to meet their business requirements. The Procurement Specialist provides specialized procurement knowledge, commodity analysis and maintains ongoing commercial relationships between PAREXEL and its supplier. The Procurement Specialist will also play a role in supplier management, working closely with local/regional suppliers to develop business relationships that help facilitate a more streamlined approach to sourcing while ensuring through negotiation that price competitiveness and high levels of service are maintained.

· Assists local customers with budget planning and development of a detailed analysis of their requirements.· Maintains close working relationships and provides professional advice and assistance to local customers by but not limited to:- Ensuring accuracy of order placement, method of shipment, and payment terms.- Addressing inquiries and resolving transactional supplier issues.- Providing requested services for market information and data.· Manage supplier databases and other tools that support supplier evaluation criteria and supplier selection.· Assists with the set up, data input and maintenance of on-line catalogs.· Reviews the supplier qualification information provided and recommends supplier status.· Develops existing local/regional supplier relationships and reviews alternate sources, ensuring continuity of supply, consistency of quality, and competitive pricing.

Negotiates contract terms and conditions with local/regional suppliers to ensure optimum pricecompetitiveness and service levels are maintained.· Manages tactical elements of local/regional contracts and provides quarterly reporting on contractualrelated matters.· In association with general supplier management responsibilities regularly and proactively reviewsterms to ensure optimum benefits are secured and monitors supplier performance and adherence tocontract terms.· Assist, as required, in the development of contract strategy, sourcing strategy, quality management,supplier selection, resolving supplier performance related issues and improvement of procurementprocesses.· Provides procurement and business management, with statistical, general and financial information aswell as regular status reports and metrics on procurement related activities.· Participates/leads local and regional compliance audit activities as needed.· Provide local and regional input to RFQs when working with Senior Procurement Specialist orCategory & Sourcing Manager.
