This Medical Statistician / Real-World Data Scientist job will offer you a unique opportunity to work on a novel, large, clinically rich data set in oncology working as a key member of a small, dedicated team. This opportunity arises as a consequence of a partnership between IMS and the healthcare data owners: the context for your work will be the cross-over between the IMS RWI team, the oncology centre and the applications of RWD for life sciences clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of study protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs), programming specification and output documents
  • Clean and prepare extracts from a large-sized real-world healthcare database
  • Conduct statistical analysis on real-world data as specified in the SAP
  • Write-up and present results of statistical analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts and/or presentations to conferences
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposal development
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiencies of workflows, including writing of internal guidance documents (e.g., SOPs and quality management documents)

Requirements

  • MSc, PhD or equivalent in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Mathematics with Stats, Computer Science or a closely related discipline
  • Strong statistical programming skills in R
  • Minimum 3 years experience designing and executing prospective or retrospective clinical database studies
  • Proven experience working with large, individual-level clinical data sets
  • Proven experience contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines
  • Already possess the Right to Work in the UK
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with people of other disciplines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualities

  • Experience working with Oncology data a very big plus
  • Prior experience working in a consultancy, CRO or other service sector in the healthcare industry
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals and/or abstracts in scientific conferences
