The Associate Director, Medical Communicationsis responsible for the day to day operations of one or more projects and provides direction, mentoring, and support to Operations Supervisors and other members of their project teams.

The Associate Director is ultimately responsible for ensuring that services are provided in accordance with client and PPD Medical Communications' policies and procedures and contractual agreements. The Associate Director is Medical Communications' primary liaison with the client and is responsible for ensuring project report summaries, budget, audit results, staffing decisions, and other critical issues are managed appropriately. The Associate Director is committed to quality and making our clients loyal Medical Communications customers.

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in a health related field 5 years’ experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry including; project management, budgetary management and 1 year of supervisory experience Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills Good leadership skills Excellent judgment/decision making skills Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to analyze data and make appropriate decisions Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to motivate Supervisors/Consultants to define and reach team objectives Ability to make difficult decisions under pressure and sometimes without all the information desired Basic computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word ) Ability to teach/mentor team members Ability to coach Supervisors to reach performance objectives; Ability to recognize and take appropriate action when consultant/Supervisory performance is not acceptable High degree of flexibility, initiative; is a self-starter
