As a Senior Scientist you will performs complex laboratory analysis of pharmaceutical products and proficiently use analytical instrumentation, calculate and analyzes data and record data in adherence with PPD SOP's and the industry.

Summarized Purpose:

Performs complex laboratory analysis of pharmaceutical products and proficiently uses analytical instrumentation, calculates and analyzes data and records data in adherence with PPD SOP's and the industry. Routinely acts as the project leader on multiple projects, interacts with clients, reviews and evaluates data, writes reports and protocols. Responsible for the scientific conduct of the project and communication of regulatory issues with senior level team members.

Essential Functions:   Contributes to the design, characterization, optimization, evaluation and selection of vaccine candidates Responsible for implementing and optimizing experimental protocols in immunology and virology Pr evious experience with serology assays such as viral neutralization, ELISA, Luminex, and tissue culture. Experience with high-throughput assays is helpful. Ex perience in running and developing assays to support Preclinical in vivo study testing. Interprets results and communicates to his/her supervisor and/or designs next logical step of experiments based on interpretation of results. Ass ist Lab Head in managing computer systems required for tracking of human biological samples and cross functional projects related to human biological specimen testing. Ex perience in running and developing assays to support human clinical study testing. Serve as study monitor for PreClinical in vivo studies. Works collaboratively across R&D Preclinical groups to develop, and execute assays related to the goals of the Immunology and System Serology Lab Group. Perform data management tasks including data analysis. Wr ites protocols, procedures and work instructions to support PreClinical assays. Writes specific technical sections of internal and external reports and contribute to scientific papers Other responsibilities as assigned by management Pre pare detailed oral or written summaries of results with interpretation for projects/products

Education and Experience:   Bachelor's degree in Biology, or Biochemistry or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4 years). In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

At least 2 years of ELISA and or Immunoassay experience required Solid experience with high throughput is desired. Full understanding of laboratory requirements, PPD & client SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidance Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks Proficiency on technical operating systems Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Effective oral and written communication skills Proven ability in technical writing skills Time management and project management skills Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to train junior staff
