The Osteoarthritis Account Manager (OAM) will be responsible for selling Synvisc-One/Synvisc (a buy and bill and specialty pharmacy product) in alignment with a company’s vision, value, and goals.  The OAM will represent Sanofi Joint Health as a leader in the healthcare industry through demonstration and provision of dependable and credible education, information, and professional assistance.

Basic Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience required
  • 1+ year of account management and contracting experience required (e.g. experience in a hospital, Long Term Care, or Business to Business)
  • 1+ year of Buy & Bill experience required
  • Highly accomplished sales professional with a documented proven track record
  • Previous sales experience in the visco supplement and orthopedic market strongly preferred
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, solution-oriented approach to the business
  • Strong technological skills with an ability to demonstrate effective leadership and selling via virtual platforms
  • Field based position with both field and virtual requirements
    • Field requires some travel (up to 30%)
    • Virtual requires a dedicated office, free from noise and disturbances

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • The OAM will be positioned to manage major account relationships, calling on Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN), major & individual hospitals, and large private orthopedic group practices, to expand revenue, generate opportunities and pull-though sales within the assigned accounts & geography
  • The OAM will establish lines of communication with IDNs, group & individual hospital, and “stake holders” as required
  • The OAM will identify and interact with IDN Client Management to achieve formulary access, specifically P&T Committee product approval to achieve favorable formulary status position. The ability to leverage existing, institutional relationships is a critical requirement, as well as corresponding C-Suite roles in the private practice entities
  • The OAM will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of pricing agreements, specifically based on tiered volume structures with IDNs and large private groups
  • Responsible for driving product demand not only at the executive level, but at the clinical and care delivery level, especially in lower control accounts
  • Responsible for facilitating the patient and product utilization support services (ie: benefit verification) and driving their integration with customer organizations.
  • OAM is expected to be compliant with all company (IQVIA and Sanofi) Medical, Safety policies and protocols, as well as AdvaMed Guidelines
  • Follows all Medicare, Medicaid and Private Insurance regulations and requirements, actively participates in Quality Improvement programs as mandated by the GPO, IDN or individual hospitals
  • Demonstrate thoroughness with all work-related activities. Strives to continually improve quality and productivity results on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and implement a dynamic territory business plan by analyzing the business, competitive landscape and territory market to drive business
  • Anticipates potential business challenges, adjusts priorities as needed, demonstrates flexibility, and develops solutions to address challenges
  • Cultivate and develop a customer and patient centric mindset with customer relationships to ensure a successful environment focused on appropriate integration of Synvisc to customer accounts
