Team and Role Description

As anAssociate Sample Coordinator,you are integral to our ability to support our clients and ultimately, patients in need. This role is for full time hours, working 8am-4:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday.Our Sample Management team supports the entire Highland Heights campus and is critical to the success of our global clinical lab. As a member of this team, you will work within a group to contribute to the progress of the group as a whole.In this role,you will be the gate-keeper anddistributorof pharmaceutical products being tested in our labs for key pharmaceutical clients.

Responsibilities: Performs duties and training to acquire the skills required for sample and standard handling in support of the laboratory. Provides support to Sample Coordinator and performs administrative tasks in the Sample Management Department. Follows SOPs, applicable client procedures, and fulfills laboratory requests with modest direct supervision.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Associates Degree/Certification/Diploma in a laboratory science, or a B.S. / BSc / B.A. degree with no previous industry experience. Non-degreed (High School or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years experience with inventory handling/tracking or in a laboratory setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, identify, transcribe, and communicate details accurately Ability to perform daily work assignments accurately, timely and in a safe manner with moderate supervision High attention to detail Basic computer skills (email, word processing, navigation)Ability to communicate sample/standard status to supervisor and laboratory staff Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame Maintain sample/standard tracking and complete all required documentation and tracking clearly and accurately according to SOP Ability to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction Cooperate with coworkers with an organized team environment or work alone with moderate supervision Ability to train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements Working Conditions: Work is performed in a clinical environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Frequent mobility required. Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck. Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement)of 15-30 lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs. Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diverse groups. Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May require periods of intense concentration. Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task. Regular and consistent attendance.
