Manager, Study Recruitment is responsible for recruitment of qualified study participants, supervising all activities related to study patient recruitment, and advertising. The role also encompasses forging alliances with external stakeholders for purposes of recruitment of patient populations required by potential or awarded studies.

Manager, Study Recruitment also acts as a key contributor to the proposal team to support Parexel in winning new business for the Early Phase Clinical Units (EPCU) and is responsible for delivering an optimized approach on how the study participants will be accessed and ultimately enrolled. Further, the role will involve ownership of relationship management with new and existing patient referral sources. To accomplish this, the Manager works with other Parexel teams, including but not limited to Medical, Operations, Project Management, Contracts/Finance, Alliance Management and Global Patient Recruitment functions.

Manager, Study Recruitment must demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills resulting in the completion of all deliverables within required timelines. Strong analytical, negotiation and writing skills are a pre-requisite to the job to allow the Manager to fully adopt a consistent data-driven approach to performance management and deliver clear, concise, selling strategies to customers and external collaborators.

Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management and development of the recruitment team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives. Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced and objective manner. Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales. Act as the Relationship Manager for the referring sites and ensures the referral sites are meeting their referral commitments. Guarantee timely and complete filling of cohorts / meet enrollment dates. Deliver EPCU feasibility assessments with clear recruitment techniques and timelines for completion. Provide detailed strategies for recruitment of healthy volunteer populations to ensure recruitment goals for each study can be met. Leverage access to various patient populations. Develop and implement an identification of patient treatment centers/sites in the vicinity of the EPCU’s to create a network of patient referrals in certain therapeutic areas/indications, where patient referrals will be possible. Completion of all negotiations both financial and operational to formulate the recruitment processes. Take ownership for strategic initiatives within assigned unit with accountability including development of measures for success. Work closely with other Parexel teams engaged in volunteer/patient recruitment and site alliance management. Support client meetings and related Business Development activities. Any other duties as assigned.
