In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking aCRADL Sr. Operations Manager for our Insourcing Solutions Department based in Cambridge, MA.

Provides operational leadership across CRADL sites and manages vivarium operations to maintain performance levels consistent with and according to company standards and client objectives. Provides cross-site consistency in CRADL branded vivarium management and operations.

The following are responsibilities relate to the CRADL Sr. Operations Manager:

• Act as corporate liaison for IS to designated contract business clients to assess contract performance, including meeting/exceeding standards with respect to animal health and welfare, facilities condition, sanitation levels and facility security as needed

• Plan, budget, and order approved capital equipment for all CRADL sites.

• Perform purposeful presence walk throughs of CRADL sites and provide reports as to the condition of the facilities, quality, compliance, etc. to the CRADL Director throughout the year.

• Participate in interactions with clients and prospective clients, through tours or meetings as required. Review service agreements or participate in client service activities as directed by the CRADL Director

• Generate and submit internal and external reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), in the required formats and timeframes.

• Responsible for ensuring appropriate SOPs are in place and reviewed pertaining to CRADL sites.

• Assist facility project managers and staff to review and analyze operational needs. Develop processes to reduce waste and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CRADL operations. Encourage 5S practices.

• Serve as temporary backfill for Project Managers during leaves of absence, vacations, key personnel vacancies or new CRADL site startups as needed. Assist in assessing training needs, and in developing and presenting training for staff and investigators. Work with technical trainers and supervisors as needed to help develop course content and materials for training and continuing education of the animal care staff to achieve AALAS certification.

• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technology platforms to enhance operations and automation.

• Periodically review site quality assurance procedures for monitoring of the effectiveness of facility sanitation, cage washing and autoclaving procedures, monitoring of incoming animal shipments for container integrity, monitor the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), internal facility reports for monitoring deviations from pre-established parameters, other quality assurance services (e.g., water cultures).

• Assist with AAALAC Accreditation Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the position CRADL Sr. Operations Manager:

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Animal or Laboratory Science or related field.

• Experience: Four years of experience in laboratory animal facility management required.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

• Certification/Licensure: AALAS certification at the Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR) level preferred.
