The Director, Project Financial Management leads the regional Project Finance Management group and reports to the Sr Director, Project Financial Management. The role requires the individual to build and lead an effective business partnership with other Ops Finance team members, the Operations group and the Corporate Finance team. This leader must have the ability to persuade and influence senior management and the capacity to actively engage and guide the regions financial team to meet its goals and objectives.


Key Accountabilities
• Directs the activities of Project Financial Analysis
o Provides leadership and direction.
o Recruit and retains competent staff and fosters results-oriented, team-focused work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating in an open, balanced and objective manner
o Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives
o Establishes, monitors, and publishes KPI/metrics that promote an efficient and reliable operation.
o Proactively seeks and drives positive change;
o Actively solicit ideas and opinions from others to identify improvement opportunities;
o Participate in formal staff review processes (e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales).

• Implements & monitors business segment financial controls and processes in compliance with applicable PAREXEL corporate policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements:
o Ensures revenue recognition is consistent with US GAAP and SBU internal controls;
o Oversees the periodic (i.e. monthly, quarterly and annually) business segment financial close processes that include:
 Applies revenue recognition policies in accordance with PAREXEL policies; Reviews and monitors A/R aging, unbilled and deferred balances, provides support to collections activities and recommend reserves as needed.
• Actively leads project level revenue forecast preparation leveraging unit and milestone forecasts of the Portfolio and Project Leadership teams; coordinates project reviews.
o Works closely with Business Controllers supporting the respective portfolios by providing insights and analytics related to project performance;
• Processes
o Assesses the impact of non-standard financial terms in SBU contracts on the business segment and communicates or adjusts processes as appropriate.
o Reconcile systems interfaces between various revenue recognition and project reporting systems ensuring complete integrity of data.
o Continuously seeks to improve staff performance and support of business leaders

Qualifications:
Skills
• Firm understanding of US GAAP & experience with accounting information systems
• Ability to recruit, develop, organize and lead a large team of professionals providing direction and mentoring

Education
• Bachelor of Science degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Finance or Accounting. Bachelor degree may be in another field if complemented by appropriate experience and/or qualifications
• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred

Language Skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Minimum Work Experience
• Extensive professional experience in positions of increasing responsibility preferably in a similar industry with a like remit
