Key Account Manager – Ophthalmology

At Quintiles, we have a great reputation for valuing and recognising our excellent employees and are always looking for highly motivated,  customer focussed Therapy Specialists to bring more skill to our Organisation.  We currently have exciting opportunities for experienced Key Account Managers to join a new team, to work with an Ophthalmology product for a potentially blinding disease, where new treatment options are really impactful.


As an Ophthalmology Account Manager, you will be directly responsible for influencing all relevant stakeholders within the NHS, including clinicians e.g. Retinal Surgeons, budget holders and influencers  in Med. Management and CCGs in order to maximise sales and achieve the strong potential for this product in your own territory. You will enjoy being responsible for gaining formulary acceptance and commissioning approval, covering all clinical and commercial discussions and bring up to date customer environmental knowledge, market access experience and a real drive to achieve.


The successful candidate will have previous Ophthalmology experience or related  disease area therapy knowledge, evidence of  success  working at senior influencer level in the NHS, a strong understanding of funding pathways plus personal attributes demonstrating a  committed, flexible, positive, team orientated approach and  winners mentality.

Skills and Experience:


·         Ophthalmology experience or related therapy area knowledge

·         Market Access experience

·         Drive to succeed and evidence of achievements in Pharmaceutical arena.

·         High level of selling and interpersonal skills

·         High level of commercial acumen and negotiating skills

·         Ability to create positive relationships with all business partners

·         Up to date knowledge of the customer environment including the NHS budgetary process/funding pathways.

·         Pathway redesign experience highly beneficial.

·         ABPI and graduate level education (or equivalent skills & experience)

·         UK Driving licence (no more than 6 points)

·         Eligibility to work full-time in the UK
