The Vice President of Phase IIIb/IV Interventional Studies is a Practice Area leader providing senior level strategy and direction for the Interventional Studies group. They partner with operations to ensure scientific and operational excellence is aligned; exercise full P & L responsibility; and develop revenue and service delivery models to ensure practice area financial goals are achieved. This role works closely with other Evidera and PPD practice leaders to advance the Evidera PPA market position and support the achievement of Company level authorization, revenue and profit goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

Strategic Lead a Practice Area which sets industry standards for quality and customer service Establishes the strategic direction of a functional team of professionals in conjunction with Evidera’s strategic plan Supports new product or service development through leadership and innovation

Client and Business Development Develops ongoing stream of funded work to support AOP targets: Assumes significant responsibility for establishing and monitoring sales targets for senior level leaders and all within the Practice Area Contributes to Partnership processes and relevant bids as appropriate Works with PPD and Evidera BD to identify new leads and new client contacts Serves as senior point of escalation on client, contract or quality issues

Leadership Oversees the strategic direction of the Practice Area through a partnership with the Global Head, Peri- and Post- Approval studies, Head of Commercial and GM peers Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal (Evidera and PPD) and external stakeholders responsible for growth within the Peri/Post approval space Participatesas a member of the Evidera SeniorLeadership Team (SLT) and contributes to corporate strategy development and execution.

Financial Develops the AOP for the Practice Area and monitors P&L and all supporting financials on a monthly basis. Presents periodic updates to Executive team and explains deviations from approved budget. Develops remediation plans as appropriate.

Personnel Responsibilities Hires, develops and deploys a team of quality oriented, subject matter experts. Empowers direct reports to be decisive in hiring and training staff and in managing poor performance effectively. Manages senior staff in a professional and supportive manner and creates an atmosphere which cultivates high employee engagement and high retention. Works together with the Center of Excellence and Training leads to ensure staff is on-boarded in a timely and cohesive manner Oversees the professional development program for the entire Practice Area Maintains senior level oversight on all hiring, promotions and salary/bonus decisions. Monitors market demand to make timely and informed hiring decisions

Collaboration Works with Practice Area Peers in: managing issues, processes and opportunities across the Evidera organization. Develops strategy with GPD around a “pull-through strategy” for programs PPDs 2/3 business in managing at a TA and portfolio level Defines roles, implements cross training or mentoring programs, and upholds performance standards to ensure a highly qualified and diversified workforce. Identifies areas requiring process development or process improvement and partners with Operations Excellence team Coordinates with QA on compliance and quality initiatives required across the business Works collaboratively with all operations/support functions such as with Legal, Finance, HR, Sales and Sales support on the implementation of MSA’s, SOW’s and amendments. Education, Professional Skills & Experience Demonstrated capability to lead a health-care related professional services business with a minimum of 10 years’ of increasingly responsible experience in the area of financial oversight, product or service development and staff development and direction. Demonstrated knowledge in medical affairs organizations within Pharma. Individual must have a clinical background with preference for advanced degree Demonstrated ability to thrive and lead in a matrixed organization. Comprehensive understanding of the global life sciences market in terms of a specific subject area with insights into the current state and future direction and trends. Ability to develop and grow a portfolio of Peri/Post approval interventional business through strong understanding of the Science and Market entering this space. Ability to build and manage to a Professional Services (billable hour-based) P&L Fully competent in the development and implementation of a business strategy and go-to market plans for new and existing products and services. Strong subject matter expertise in the areas of: Medical Affairs, Real World Evidence Generation, interventional research in the Peri/post approval area. Fluency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint are highly desirable.
