Job Overview
• Ensure that the daily requirements of the department are met through planning, coordination and operational leadership.

Responsibilities
• Foster unified environment leading to increased employee engagement
• Purchase equipment within established parameters for the position or recommend items to be purchased to the head of the department.
• Maintain forecasting tools and use to monitor expected future staffing requirements.
• Develop customer service metrics and contribute to regional operational reporting requirements.
• Continually communicate company strategies, progress, and areas of focus.
• Identify financial opportunities and performance efficiencies and implementing process improvements and cost saving ideas.
• Ensure adherence to appropriate quality control systems and procedures.  Maintain SOPs to ensure all procedures are documented and required amendments to procedures are highlighted and progressed immediately.
• Oversee the timely completion of incident reports and assigned internal/external audit findings.
• Keep abreast of new technical developments.
• Maintain a high level of awareness of safety procedures/good housekeeping.
• Promote or organize development opportunities for the staff.
• Engage in a high degree of interaction with internal departments and discussions related to new service offering and customer needs.
• Implement disciplinary action as needed.
• Ensure training of new personnel according to the time guidelines in the training plans and for cross-training/refresher training to ensure adequate staff coverage as required. Ensure maintenance of staff position descriptions, CVs and training records.
• Act as department pivotal contact point.  Liaise with global counterparts to drive consistency of process. Liaise with internal and external clients in departmental matters.
• Recommend/oversee salary increases as part of budget and salary review.
• Host external audits and sponsor visits/tours as requested.
• Manage staff in accordance with organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; identification of resource requirements; progressing staff recruitment; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resource actions.
• Manage vendors as required.

Minimum required education and experience
• Bachelor's Degree  
• 6 years relevant experience including 2 years line management experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience including supervisory experience or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Required knowledge, skills and abilities
• Good working knowledge of relevant procedures
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively delegate work
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, and direct team members
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
