In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking an CRADL Facility Supervisor for our Insourcing Solutions Department located in Cambridge, MA.

Directs day-to-day operations. Develops production/service (or operations) and resource plans that meet goals in terms of safety, quality, output and cost. Assists in the oversight of management for site operations and ensures continuous process improvement. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operations. Provides general direction to and review of managers in various functional areas, groups and/or operations, etc. Develops/supports corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes the implementation of these policies.  Provides daily supervision of personnel and operations conducting husbandry and study support activities in the Vivarium. Independently handles routine personnel-related issues; assists in the handling of complex personnel-related issues. Liaises with clients to ensure satisfaction with technician performance.

The following are responsibilities relate to the Supervisor Supervise the daily activities of staff conducting husbandry and study support activities in the Vivarium. Ability to train and guide staff on technical procedures as well as animal care and husbandry Ability to provide technical backup on dosing, injections, collections. Monitor and document task completion and deviations from defined KPI’s and submit monthly to CRL Management in a timely fashion to support contract deliverables. Participate in periodic meetings with CRL Operations staff to keep them informed of current and future projects, policies and procedures. Assist in any contract related activity, as assigned by Clients and Operations Specialist, to complete the required work. Participate in the development of projections for equipment, supplies and personnel needed to effectively operate the research facilities.

  Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the CRADL Facility Supervisor position: Education:  Bachelors Degree in Animal Science or related field. Experience:  Minimum of five years  in a laboratory animal facility of which three years is of management experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure:  AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician level (LAT) or higher or ability to successfully achieve LATG certification within 24 months of entry. Other: Working knowledge of laboratory animal facilities operations, IVIS systems and technical work including dosing, injections and collections.  Working knowledge of laboratory animal equipment and supplies, including cagewash, autoclave, and caging systems for a variety of common laboratory animals and personal protective equipment requirements. Ability to effectively follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and that contribute to a congenial work environment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, research staff, and managers. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Office, word processing and database record keeping required.
