In this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives" as we combat the COVID-19 pandemic.</p> <p>The Integrated Oncology Division of LabCorp is seeking a Flow Cytometry Laboratory Supervisor for the Flow Cytometry department at the Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology (CMBP). This department performs immunophenotyping by Flow cytometry testing for Leukemia and Lymphoma diagnosis.</p> <p>The schedule for this position is 1st Shift (Tuesday - Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm).</p> <p>Job Duties/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Supervising the lab operations of the Flow Cytometry Department, including accurate delivery of patient results, competency assessments, continuing education, and positive morale of laboratory staff. Will attend staff and management meetings and oversee daily lab operations.</li> <li>Taking responsibility for laboratory performance criteria including:</li> <li>Monitoring daily workflow in the lab, planning / scheduling for adequate assay coverage, and troubleshooting / escalating problems, as necessary.</li> <li>Directly supervising, training, and mentoring laboratory testing staff. This includes clearly communicating expectations to staff and evaluating individual employee performance.</li> <li>Assisting with the hiring of qualified, enthusiastic employees.</li> <li>Working closely and cooperatively with the Lab Manager and other department supervisor(s), as well as supervisors / staff in support departments.</li> <li>Monitoring time tracking system for employees and ensuring attendance expectations are being met.</li> <li>Other responsibilities as assigned by Lab Manager.</li> </ul><p><span style="font-size: 8.0pt;font-family: "lucida sans";"><strong>Requirements:</strong></span></p><ul> <li>Bachelors in Biology or related life science.</li> <li>Must have at least 7 years of experience in a Clinical Diagnostic Lab setting OR 6 years clinical lab experience with a Medical Technology degree</li> <li>2 years in a leadership role preferred, but not required</li> <li>Previous experience with performing flow cytometry testing strongly preferred, but not required</li> <li>Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong computer skills and working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.</li> <li>Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures</li> <li>High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills</li> <li>Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment</li> <li>Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position</li> </ul>
