Job Summary We are seeking an Supervisor for our Insourcing Solutions Department located in Cambridge, MA.-  Position includes a $2,000 sign on bonus.

Provide direction. leadership and training  of Corporate Response Team (CRTs) staff at client sites to provide temporary assignments of cage wash, animal care, study tech services in timely and appropriate response to client/ operational needs. Maintain performance levels consistent with and according to company and client standards and requirements, ensuring satisfaction with technicians performance.  

The following are responsibilities relate to the Supervisor: Review and approve schedules including the assignment or reassignment of CRT staff to client sites. Develops work plans and schedules for direct reports. Update and distribute a weekly schedule of contract and training assignments to CRTs and all appropriate divisional staff. Maintain and Update all CRT calendars. Responsible for  in the training of CRT animal care staff in the following:  cage changing, microisolator cage changing techniques, room sanitation, autoclave operation, cagewash operations, waste disposal and other husbandry duties as required, train on technical skills as needed. Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews. Ensure optimum performance of group function.  Determine and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain innovative practices. Conduct walkthroughs at assigned facilities to assist the operations managers. Coordinate travel arrangements for CRTs assigned to remote sites. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with all applicants, clients, vendors and company personnel. Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the position Supervisor: Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal science or related field of study required. Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience and successful performance in an supervisory or lead technician experience at an academic, commercial or government institution supporting an animal research facility contract site. Prefer experience with new contract start-ups. Multi-species experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Certification/Licensure:  AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) level required. Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) preferred. Other: Knowledge of laboratory animal facilities operations. Understanding of animal husbandry and in-vivo technical skills. Ability to adapt and respond timely to the needs of client to ensure that excellent customer service is always provided. ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to effectively follow verbal and written instructions and exhibit interpersonal skills that are conducive to effective communication and that contribute to a congenial work environment. Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with coworkers, research staff, and managers. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
