This position is offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus and an hourly rate of $23.50!!

 

We are seeking an Animal Husbandry Technician I for our Insourcing Solutions site in San Diego, CA. 

 

In this role, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to monitor, observe, and record animal health and welfare daily, as well as complete various standard animal husbandry duties. This duties include performing bottle/line and cage checks; providing appropriate food and water; performing daily cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; recording animal health concerns; as well as maintain animal housing areas or isolator environments.  You will also perform cage wash duties and sanitation to include sanitizing caging and related equipment using cage wash equipment. You may also be tasked with receiving, inspecting, and putting away incoming animals; and assisting with the receipt, stocking and maintenance of supply inventories. 

 

Ensure that all facility documentation, including room log/charts, equipment logbooks, checklists and other records are completed timely. It will be necessary to maintain accurate records of animal health, and to report health concerns to the veterinary personnel timely.

  Job Qualifications Education:  High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences field preferred.  Experience:  Minimum of one year directly related laboratory animal experience in an AAALAC accredited facility.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.  Certification/Licensure:  AALAS Certification at the ALAT level preferred.
