About the job

As a Privacy Program Manager / Engineer, you will develop technical & non-technical solutions to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and advocate for strong privacy design across Patient Recruitment & Retention and IQVIA. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, legal and policy teams to build new features, and work on critical efforts. You should have a passion for privacy, along with a good understanding of security infrastructure, design analysis, and research experience.

Responsibilities

Define division-wide processes for incorporating privacy into the product development cycle and engineering system. Within the team, the privacy program management function partners with engineering teams and other stakeholder groups to deliver excellent privacy experiences and develop an internal “Privacy first” culture.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the creation of privacy guidelines for patient recruitment products and services
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in all phases of product and service development as a subject matter expert on feature design, user experience, and business process that focuses on privacy compliance and excellence and follows Privacy by Design principles
  • Ensure products and connected services comply with the all internal privacy standards as well as any other legal regulations and develop customized implementation guidelines as needed
  • Act as a subject matter expert on privacy and conduct deep-dive reviews of our technologies and processes to evaluate features and mitigate concerns
  • Develop documentation and training that helps non-privacy stakeholders be successful in understanding key privacy concepts and implementation rules
  • Identify and drive decisions by appropriately escalating security and privacy issues to management
  • Collaborate across the enterprise on privacy issues and requirements
  • Keep actively on top of changing capabilities and/or privacy requirements that would impact the privacy landscape
  • Partner with teams in all phases of development as a subject matter expert on feature design and user experience that focuses on privacy compliance and excellence.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and provide proactive privacy guidance to feature teams to build future-proof solutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in a PM/SWE/SE role
  • 3+ years in a privacy program manager or engineer role with experience handling escalations
  • Ability to anticipate issues and proactively plan mitigation strategies

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to develop functional and technical requirements to be implemented by partner teams
  • Proficiency in communicating through all channels: in person, through reporting, documentation, and written communications
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strength in communicating clearly with a range of different personality types and disciplines
  • Attention to detail and willingness to dive into technical details of features to deliver privacy requirements and innovations
  • Deep knowledge and passion for end user privacy (and ability to learn quickly and apply learnings throughout the organization)
  • Solid project management and reporting experience
  • A passion for deeply understanding stakeholder needs
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) would be a plus
