Sr Datastore Specialist

Key Responsibilities

·     Support implementation and design of ETL architecture, including minor data model additions and modifications

·     Create stored procedures to handle CRUD operations, including data views

·     Leverage data integration tools (e.g., SQL Server Integration Services) to create batch jobs for ETL processing, following established patterns and protocols

·     Assist in data analysis, QC and metadata management

·     Enhance system documentation, (e.g., data models and definitions)

·     Perform ad hoc queries

·     Actively participate in requirement definition sessions and backlog grooming

·     Set up, support and administer SQL Server instances in the Pursuit cloud environment or in client environments

·     Optimize SQL Server performance

·     Set up backups and mirroring of SQL Server Database instances to meet established policies and procedures

·     Set up monitoring of system performance, uptime and job execution

·     Troubleshoot issues

Required Skills

·     5 plus years Microsoft SQL Server development experience

·     3-5 years experience with SSIS tools

·     Familiarity with software development processes and practices including Scrum

·     Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written & spoken)

·     Demonstrated ability to participate in discussions and analysis on new features: analytical skills, technical judgment and the ability to use data to get a coherent point across

·     A genuine can do attitude with the desire to take ownership of a feature or bug and get it done with quality and attention to detail
