This position will take on various roles and may include line management, account/portfolio management and billable project responsibilities. Account management responsibilities may include providing portfolio level oversight to large, complex clinical trials or clinical trial programs for an account or a grouping of accounts. The role will ensure the project teams assigned achieve operational excellence and will take accountability for delivering projects/programs on time, to budget, to the highest quality and in compliance with ICH GCP, ensuring we meet client expectations. Director, Project Management may contribute actively in proposal development teams, using their knowledge and experience to develop innovative plans and program architecture. Works almost independently, requiring minimal interaction/supervision by Line Manager. When having Line Management responsibilities, Director, Project Management, will act as a role model and coach for the team and new Project Managers. Supervise, lead, and mentor Project Managers by effectively managing and developing staff, ensuring that they are motivated and empowered to maximize performance and maintain high morale. This includes ensuring successful performance and delivery of his/her direct report’s projects, on time, and meeting client satisfaction targets. This position may be involved in recruitment, interviewing, selection and onboarding of new staff to Project Management as well as participating in the assignment of the right project managers to the different projects/programs/accounts. Director, Project Management may lead and contribute to group initiatives and may drive implementation of the outcomes within or across the EPCU(s) to enable an efficient and effective business operation.

Key AccountabilitiesWork as an experienced Project Manager on highly visible accounts.Provide senior oversight and support to Project Managers and accounts as needed.Provide portfolio level oversight for the account assigned.Resolve issues in collaboration with the client and project team. Provide oversight to initial and ongoing risk management.Oversee and ensure first time quality on the project deliverables.Represent Operations in external client oversight meetings.Develop and manage the client relationship, as needed.Recognize improvement and/or business opportunities, question the status quo, work collaboratively to assess, propose, and implement improvements where possible. Manage employee performance, develop employees, motivate and communicate, Hire and onboard effectively, attend to administrative necessities.QualificationsSkills:Ability to create a sense of urgency and take a proactive, solutions-based approach.Budget management/financial acumen.Highly accountable.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, organizational and verbal and written communication across cultures and ability to communicate effectively with clients; experience in delivering presentations at client meetings, training sessions, etc.Excellent knowledge of all operational and regulatory aspects of clinical research and of the project lifecycle.A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning.Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance in only the most complex situations and knows when to call on senior management for involvement in communicating to client executives after assessing the organizational implications.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, and project planning software.Solid clinical knowledge and expert understanding of clinical research and protocol design.Knowledge and Experience: Management experience along with substantial experience in project management, quality management, or clinical operations preferably in Early Phase.Strong command of written and spoken English language, local language proficiency as required.Proven substantial expert project management experience, preferably in clinical research in health care industry, academia, pharmaceutical industry or contract research organization.Proven track record of developing client relationships at program/portfolio level.Significant leadership experience and previous line management experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science/ medical field, advanced degree preferred.PMP or equivalent desirable.
